Description
Donuts & Churros is an LGBTQ+ romance novel about two men in their forties who have fallen in love with each other’s respective online personas on a book forum. Unfortunately, they do not know they’ve already met in the real world, and, well, it was a disaster.
Caleb J. Caldwell is a powerful book critic who loathes the romance genre with a passion. Frederick Z. Barn is a romance author who likewise happens to be a medically discharged veteran. Both are tumbling head over heels in love with an anonymous friend from an online book forum.
Meanwhile, Frederick’s book ends up in the notorious critic’s hands, who writes him an unmerited and utterly degrading review. In the States, publicly ripping a “freedom fighter” to shreds is just begging for a viral Twitter scandal.
When the forum usernames decide to finally meet after more than a year of lovely bantering and flirting, Caldwell is horrified to find out that the man he thinks is “the one” is the same man whose career he’s ruined.
Battling his legion of inner demons, Caldwell strives to find a way to befriend Frederick in the real world and hope his confession won’t result in losing his long-sought soulmate.
