A Personal Note About My First Novel

Searlus and the Sailor – An Erotic Monster Romance Novel

I wanted to take a moment to share something close to my heart—my first book, Searlus and the Sailor. This story is more than just another Beauty and the Beast tale; This book was my way of exploring what it means to be different, to love deeply, and to find your place in a world that can often feel so rigid.

The main character, Andre Belle Dubois, is a genderqueer sailor who doesn’t fit neatly into society’s boxes—and she’s perfectly okay with that. Writing Belle was both challenging and liberating for me because she embodies a confidence in her gender queerness that I’ve often struggled to find in myself.

Since I was a child, I wrestled with understanding my gender identity. It was a long road filled with confusion, frustration, and the pressure to conform to what others expected of me. Belle, on the other hand, is someone who knows exactly who she is and embraces it fully, even when the world around her doesn’t quite get it. In a way, writing her story was like giving myself the permission I never had—to be unapologetically myself.

In Searlus and the Sailor, Belle’s journey takes her to the mysterious castle of King Searlus, where the lines between magic, love, and self-discovery blur. The story starts in this enchanted, almost otherworldly place where Belle’s confidence shines, even as she navigates the complexities of her relationship with Searlus—a chimaera-like figure who is as isolated as he is misunderstood.

But as with life, the story eventually leaves the magic behind, and Belle is thrown back into the real world, where the challenges of memory, identity, and love are starkly felt. This transition mirrors so much of what it feels like to move between the safety of self-acceptance and the harsh realities of a world that doesn’t always understand or accept you.

If you’re in the mood for a story that weaves together themes of love, magic, and the courage to be yourself, I think you’ll find something special in Searlus and the Sailor. Click the link to check it out.

I’d love to hear your thoughts if you decide to read it—whether it’s about Belle, her journey, or anything else that resonates with you.

Thank you for being part of this journey with me. Your support means the world.

With love,
Mordelle
